I like healthy fats and I cannot lie...

Okay. Sorry for the cheesy title. Even more sorry that it has been forever since I last posted a blog, BUT I had a lot of content written for you guys and then fried my computer. It was a sad day and I wallowed in the frustration for a while before I finally decided to tell myself to just get over it. Pity party over!

A few years ago, when I was really trying to shed the baby weight I was eating 1000 calories a day, working out for over an hour minimum, AND I was terrified of fat and carbs. It was seriously paralyzing to think about adding in FAT to my food. Since beginning the FASTer Way to Fat Loss® and subsequently completing a nutrition course from Precision Nutrition, I have learned how important healthy fats are to our daily functioning!

This morning I went live on my Facebook page to share my top 5 favorite healthy fats and you can catch the replay here: https://www.facebook.com/emily.p.copeland/videos/10100723113058844/

For those of you not on Facebook here are my top 5 favorite healthy fats:

  1. Avocados - I love avocado in any shape or form! I typically eat an entire avocado on low carb day.

  2. Nuts- I love almonds and peanuts (and nut butters too!!) but recently I have been loving macadamia nuts. The macros on those are crazy (21g of fat and only 2 net carbs), but totally amazing for a low carb day!

  3. Eggs- I LOVE eggs in any way, shape, or form. On a low carb day I will usually have 2 or 3 whole eggs, but as a way to save some fat on a regular or low macro day I will ditch a yolk or two and keep the whites.

  4. Oil- Like I said before, I was terrified of adding fat to my food, but oil has become my best friend as of late. I love cooking with avocado oil, adding it to my salad as well. I love MCT oil in my protein smoothies to kick those healthy fats up a bit too!

  5. Seeds- particularly chia seeds. They are a great source of fit fats and a very versatile way to add in those healthy fats without adding in too many net carbs. One serving of chia seeds has 16g of carbs, BUT it has 14g of fiber making the net carbs only 2g!

My next round of FASTer Way to Fat Loss® kicks off October 8th. Through the FASTer Way, THOUSANDS have reached their goals and maintained this simple lifestyle. These individuals have reported so much more than just weight loss; they've reported better sleep, improved digestion, more stamina, better moods, and a leaner physique.  Many women even report more regular hormones!  I would LOVE to have you join me and head into the holidays feeling confident and energized. You will have the tools you need to ROCK those holidays in control of your nutrition and able to enjoy those celebrations guilt free. Be sure to grab your spot ASAP!
